With globalization, the importance of acquiring adequate English language skill is growing. At EISJ, we not only teach English language as one of the main components of CDC curriculum, but English is a language of instruction for subjects like Mathmatics, Science and others. Moreover, realizing that grammar focused CDC English curriculum should be complimented by standard English communication curriculum, we have adopted GrapeSEED English Curriculum to enhance the communication skills of our students.
Developed at the Meysen Academy in Sendai and currently being used at schools in different countries, including Japan and the US, GrapeSEED is a proven, comprehensive English language curriculum for children. At EISJ, GrapeSEED curriculum is taught by a native English teacher. The curriculum includes take-home audio visual materials and texts comprising Songbook, Storybook and Story Dictionary. Unlike traditional English learning that focuses on alphabets, priority is given to having students mastering phonics. The idea is to have students speak natural English with confidence. Having used the curriculum for more than half year, we have realized that the benefit of GrapeSEED program has exceeded our expectation. Our students now communicate to each other in English with ease.
